A Redneck Love Poem
Susie Lee done fell in love.
She planned to marry Joe.
She was so happy 'bout it all,
She told her Pappy so.

Pappy told her, Susie Gal,
You'll have to find another.
I'd just as soon yo' Mama don't know,
But Joe is yo' half brother.

So Susie put aside her Joe
And planned to marry Will.
But after telling Pappy this,
He said, 'There's trouble still'.

You can't marry Will, my gal,
And please don't tell yo' mama,
But Will and Joe and several mo'
I know is yo' half brother.

But Mama knew and said, My child,
Just do what makes yo' happy.
Marry Will or Marry Joe,
You ain't no kin to Pappy...

We Are Family
Volunteers are the backbone of our Lodge. Without them, meals would not be served, entertainment would not be arranged, upkeep would not be done, nothing would be accomplished without their help. Our volunteers are the most valuable asset we have as a Fraternity, without whom, we could not survive.

Please consider giving some of your time or expertise to our Lodge. We need attendance at meetings, both at the LOOM and WOTM. We need participants on the officer's boards. We need volunteers to help out in all areas to give the ones who do volunteer, some help and support. It takes a team to run an organization like the Moose Lodge.

Golden Triangle Moose is a Fraternity, true, but we are also a family and we can all work together to make our Moose experience better for all of us.
“Don’t question the value of volunteers. Noah’s Ark was built by volunteers; the Titanic was built by professionals.” – Dave Gynn.

What is BANG! You Ask?
Played Saturday evenings after Queen of Hearts, (when there are no other events), Bang! is a card game that uses five decks of cards to play with Jokers, four for game play. Each player buys into the round, $2 is put in the jackpot. Players are dealt five cards. The player with the best hand at the opening of the round wins half the pot, the other half is played for in the round. A single deck is used as the control deck and as play progresses, a card is turned over from the control deck. Players with a card matching the control card may “toss” their match away. First player to lose all his cards wins the round. Any player that draws five of a kind in his hand wins the jackpot (Five 3’s, or five 8’s etc, not including jokers). The jackpot rolls over to the next game date. Be sure to check the calendar for the upcoming dates!

One Day ....
It's the Spring of 1957 and Bobby goes to pick up his date. He's a pretty hip guy with his own car. When he goes to the front door, the girl's father answers and invites him in. "Carrie's not ready yet, so why don't you have a seat?" he says.
"That's cool," says Bobby.

Carrie's father asks Bobby what they're planning to do. Bobby replies politely that they will probably just go to the soda shop or a movie. Carrie's father responds, "Why don't you two go out and screw? I hear all the kids are doing it."

Naturally, this comes as a quite a surprise to Bobby--so he asks Carrie's dad to repeat it. "Yeah," says Carrie's father, "Carrie really likes to screw; she'll screw all night if we let her!" Well, Bobby's eyes light up at that. A few minutes later, Carrie comes downstairs in her little poodle skirt and announces that she's ready to go. Almost breathless with anticipation, Bobby escorts his date out the front door.

About 20 minutes later, Carrie rushes back into the house, slams the door behind her, and screams at her father: "DAMMIT DADDY! IT'S CALLED THE TWIST!!!"

The Two Things That Make A Lodge Successful
Volunteers are the heart and soul of the Lodge operation. These folks give their time and energy to provide entertainment, great meals, activities and serve on the various committees and boards for all our benefit.

The other ingredient to a successful Lodge is you, the member. Yes, by coming to the events, the dinners, the shows and most importantly, the meetings, you give the volunteers a reason to continue their work.

So, if you can't volunteer and help out, that's okay, not everyone can. But please try to attend the dinners and events to show support and appreciation for those who work to make these events happen. It takes all our members to make a successful Lodge!

On The Lighter Side....
A priest and a nun are on their way back home from a trip when their car breaks down. They are unable to get it fixed, so they decide to spend the night in a hotel. The only hotel in the town has only one room available.

Priest: Sister, I don't think the Lord would have a problem, under the circumstances, if we spent the night together in this one room. I'll sleep on the lounge and you have the bed.

Nun: I think that would be okay.
They prepare for bed and each one takes their agreed place in the room. Ten minutes later...

Nun: Father, I'm terribly cold.
Priest: Okay, I'll get you a blanket. (He does)

Ten minutes later...

Nun: Father, I'm still terribly cold.
Priest: Okay Sister, I'll get you another blanket. (He does)

Ten minutes later...

Nun: Father, I'm still terribly cold. I don't think the Lord would mind if we acted as man and wife just for this one night.

Priest: You're probably right...get up and get your own blanket.
